Hello Washington parents and students!

My name is Ruth Pena and I am so excited to be at Washington Elementary.

I am from Gunter, TX and I graduated from Texas Woman's University with a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Bilingual Education in 2016.

I have taught 1st and 2nd grade bilingual. Within those years, I have been recognized as Washington's first year teacher of the year as well as Sherman ISD's April 2014 teacher of the month.

A few things I love: Spending time with my husband Benigno and boys Benny, Danny, Nico, and Santi, watching Dallas Cowboys football, DIY projects, and reading blogs and Instagram posts of fun activities other bilingual teacher are doing in their classrooms.
 
I look forward to getting to know you and your child throughout this school year. I assure you that I will give my absolute best so that your child has a joyful school year filled with tons of growth and academic success!

I am blessed to be at the best campus in Sherman ISD! I LOVE being a WASHINGTON TIGER!

¡Hola padres y estudiantes de Washington!

Mi nombre es Ruth Pena y estoy muy emocionada de estar en Washington Elementary.

Yo soy de Gunter, TX y me gradué de la Texas Woman's University con una Licenciatura en Ciencias en Estudios Interdisciplinarios con especialización en Educación Bilingüe en 2016.

He enseñado 1er y 2do grado bilingüe.  Dentro de esos años, he sido reconocida como la maestra de primer año en Washington Elementary y tambien como maestra del mes del distrito en abril de 2014.

Algunas cosas que me encantan son: pasar tiempo con mi esposo Benigno y mis niños Benny, Danny, Nico y Santi, ver fútbol de los Dallas Cowboys, proyectos de bricolaje y leer blogs y publicaciones en Instagram de actividades divertidas que otros maestros bilingües están haciendo en sus clases.
 
Espero conocerlos a usted y a su hijo/a mas durante este año escolar. ¡Les aseguro que daré lo mejor de mí parte para que su hijo tenga un año escolar lleno de crecimiento y éxito académico!

¡Tengo la gran suerte de estar en la mejor escuela de Sherman ISD! ¡ME ENCANTA ser un TIGRE DE WASHINGTON!
