Mrs. Ashley Woods

Mrs. Woods comes to Wakefield after serving one year as Assistant Principal. As Assistant Principal, she instituted a more comprehensive Positive Behavior Interventions and Support program (PBIS), streamlined processes for addressing the needs of students, whether academically or behaviorally, and created a culture of positivity for the entire campus. Prior to serving as Assistant Principal, Mrs. Woods was an Instructional Coach at Neblett Elementary for four years. As an Instructional Coach, she led instructional design, professional development and support for both new and veteran teachers through planning and mentorship. She also brings nine years of experience as a classroom teacher in KellerISD, where she taught grades 3-6. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University.

She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Matt, for 19 years, and they have three children. Matt is an engineer with Texas Instruments, where he has supported partnerships with ShermanISD and Grayson College to help train students interested in careers in electrical engineering.

Mrs. Woods looks forward to creating a positive campus culture, well-defined systems, and quality instruction to meet the unique needs of students and staff at Wakefield.
