AP Studio

  • AP Studio Art is and advanced placement course with the specific goal of completing a portfolio in early May for submission to College Board for college credit.  AP Studio students are accepted into the class based on Art teacher recommendations for talent, work ethic and behavior.  The student may complete separate portfolios for Drawing, 2-D Design and 3-D Design.  This class is not for the weary as it is a fast paced, high expectation class for college prep and probable art career majors.
In the past years. Sherman High's AP Studio Art Class has consistently scored 3's or above on their portfolios and have passed their College Board Test with college credit awarded for their portfolios.  The students are graded on many criteria and awarded one score :1-5.  A  3 and above is  considered passing.
